The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt PS4 (Preview):
You see that grotesque, three-eyed beast over there? Yeah, the one with the antlers big enough to impale a dozen men with a single head flick. The Witcher 3 is shaping up to be the go to RPG of this year and CD Projekt Red are looking to de throne Elder Scrolls as the king of the Western RPG's.
Slaying monsters is an essential component to any RPG but The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt looks to make each encounter feel fresh and momentous, instead of having you hack your way through hundreds of interchangeable orcs, the games designers have instead introduced a new monster hunting mechanic.
The game's sprawling open world, which the designers are saying is 20% bigger than Bathesda's Skyrim is filled with unique creatures, the games developers have made it clear that each monster battle which usually have a tendency to break the flow of the game in The Witcher 3, you can almost view each of them as exceptionally dangerous NPC's each possessing their own backstory and each have an influence on the games unfolding tale. Before charging into these confrontations players will have to do their homework, uncovering weaknesses and attack behaviour by consulting with townsfolk and other reference scattered around the world.
The more i read on this game makes me more excited to finally get my hands on it, the way the world is shaping up is what more games should be designed and if what CD Projekt Red are saying about the game is true then this will be the RPG to beat after this year.
CD Projekt RED claims that the game will redefine the genre, but haven't we traversed fantasy worlds and slain countless monsters before, so what will be so different that it will stand out about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Only time will tell as we move closer to release and get to know the game a lot more.
